Pinholes

A defect consisting of tiny holes on paint surfaces also known as cratering.

The Causes

  • Thick paint application

  • Insufficient flash-off time between layers

  • Thinner too fast at high room temperature

  • Insufficient amount of thinner

How to Fix

  1. Fill the holes with Nippon Paint Polyester Putty or Universal Body Filler N2, sand & clean defective area, repaint with Nippon Paint 238 2K Primer or Nippon Paint HS Filler follow by Topcoat.
